Members of the NEEFS Board and invited guests had the privilege of participating in a site tour hosted by the Cheslatta Carrier Nation.
The tour provided an opportunity to learn more about the history of the Cheslatta people and territory, the impacts that water management and development have had on the Cheslatta system, ongoing restoration efforts, and broader watershed stewardship initiatives throughout the region.
NEEFS would like to sincerely thank the Cheslatta Carrier Nation for their generous hospitality and for sharing their history, experiences, knowledge, and vision for the future. The day was both informative and impactful, and provided valuable context for ongoing discussions regarding watershed restoration, environmental stewardship, and the future of the Nechako watershed.
We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, listen, and continue building relationships based on respect and collaboration.
