Janis Bilau

Janis serves as the Administrator of the Nechako Environmental Enhancement Fund Society (NEEFS), supporting the Board of Directors in the delivery of environmental enhancement funding throughout the Nechako Watershed.

With more than 15 years of experience working with non-profit organizations, community groups, businesses, and funding agencies, Janis brings expertise in governance, financial and administrative systems, strategic planning, project administration, stakeholder engagement, and organizational development. Throughout her career, she has supported organizations at all stages of growth, helping them strengthen governance, improve operational systems, secure funding, and build long-term sustainability.

In her role with NEEFS, Janis works closely with First Nations, government representatives, community organizations, researchers, and project proponents to support project development, funding administration, governance, communications, and financial management. She is passionate about building positive relationships, supporting meaningful environmental stewardship initiatives, and ensuring NEEFS remains responsive, transparent, and accountable in its funding and decision-making processes.

Outside of her work with NEEFS, Janis enjoys hiking, backpacking, cycling, gardening, and volunteering in support of local sporting events and community initiatives throughout British Columbia.
